For all those who are interested. Here is the itinerary for the trip. If you can join, let me know, but these are the towns I will be staying in. I am open to restaurants and sights to see when there. It's my first trip, and I am open to suggestions.
Day 1--- Sunday August 17, --Kickstands up at 10
Meeting at the Circle K in East Brewton, AL- 400 Forrest Ave, East Brewton, AL 36426. We will ride, stopping for gas about every 150 mi (my safe range) and food whenever it feels right. Day 1 will end in Cedartown, Georgia. I will be staying at the Quality INN, 925 N Main St, Cedartown, GA 30125
DAY 2--Monday, August 18- KSU AT 9
Heading to Robbinsville, NC. It is about a 3-hour ride to Robbinsville. After checking in, I plan to check out the area, perhaps with a few little rides. Or perhaps just find a nice bar and grill.
I will be staying at Quality Inn & Suites, 111 Rodney Orr Bypass, Robbinsville, NC 28771
Day 3-- Tuesday, August 19--KSU 10ish-- Nice and Fresh, we will hit the Dragon.
I have a good route planned. From Robbinsville, we take the tail of the Dragon going to Vonore, TN, and down to Tellico Planes HD. Then take the Cherohala Skyway back to Robbinsville. 2 of the best rides in the area.
Night 3--- will be in Robbinsville again.
Day 4 --Wednesday, August 20, first day towards home. from Robbinsville, we will work towards Chattanooga, TN, on Hwy 74, which I have heard is also a good ride, turning down into Alabama and riding along Guntersville Lake until we reach Guntersville. I will be at Wyndham Garden Lake Guntersville, 2140 Gunter Ave, Guntersville, AL 35976.
DAY 5: -- Thursday, August 21--last day home. I am toying with stopping by Hattie B' Hot Chicken in Birmingham either way, about a 5 hr ride back to Brewton ending at Camp 31 BBQ 222 St Joseph Ave, Brewton, AL 36426.
Staying at home that night...
