Backpack 201: Navigation and Route Finding
Location: Cove Creek - Pisgah National Forest
2 Day/1 Night Course
Join an experienced guide for an overnight backcountry camping trip focused on covering the basics of backcountry navigation and route finding. Skills include:
-Choosing a location for hiking and backpacking
-Navigating backcountry trail intersections
-Understanding topographic maps
-Using a compass
-What to do when lost

-Total Mileage: 4.7 miles
-Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
-Elevation Gain: 850ft
-Hike Start/Finish: Cove Creek Trailhead

Trip Cost covers all equipment, meals, beverages, your Guide for 2 days and 1 night, and 1hr pre-trip video chat with your group.
$500 per person
2 backpacker minimum, 4 backpacker maximum
*Meals are standard backpacking style dehydrated meals. Items are chosen to be easy to prepare while filling and replenishing. Most dietary preferences and restrictions can be honored when creating our meal planning.
