About Professor Glaucio Mota
A 3rd-degree black belt from the Carlson Gracie lineage with over 35 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Professor Glaucio is a highly technical practitioner known for his detailed instruction and sharp understanding of the art. His deep exposure to current national and international champions keeps him at the forefront of modern Jiu-Jitsu, making his knowledge a true gift for any student seeking to evolve.
A decorated competitor, he captured gold at the 1997 and 1998 Rio State Championships and earned bronze at the Brazilian Nationals both years. In 2002, he began his career with Rio’s Military Police, where he currently serves as a sergeant, applying Jiu-Jitsu tactics in high-pressure environments, including jails, border patrol, and special operations.
Today, Professor Glaucio remains an active practitioner and mentor, helping prepare a new generation of athletes—many of whom are regular fixtures on the podium. 🏆
