Dunk's Mushrooms, Guest Chef Dinner Series welcomes Chef Keith Sarasin

On Friday July 25th, meet Chef Keith Sarasin.

Chef Keith Sarasin is an acclaimed chef, author, speaker, and restaurateur whose culinary journey blends a passion for storytelling with a deep commitment to sustainable agriculture. He is the founder of The Farmers Dinner, a pioneering pop-up dining series that brings farm-to-table experiences directly to local New England farms. Since its inception in 2012, The Farmers Dinner has hosted over 100 immersive farm-to-table events, feeding more than 20,000 guests and raising over $230,000 to support local farms.

Beyond The Farmers Dinner, Keith is the co-owner of From The Field Catering and the chef-owner of Aatma: An Exploration of Indian Cuisine, where he showcases his expertise in Indian flavors through a modern lens. His passion for Indian cuisine, cultivated through years of research and travel, infuses his farm-driven dishes with bold and intricate flavors.

Keith’s culinary roots trace back to his early years, cooking alongside his mother using vintage cookbooks passed down from his grandmother. His career began at 15 in a local sub shop, and through years of dedication, he worked his way up from sous chef to executive chef. His journey has since expanded beyond the kitchen, as he has authored multiple cookbooks, including The Perfect Turkey, The Farmers Dinner Cookbook, and Meat: The Ultimate Cookbook.

A champion of local food systems, Keith’s work has preserved over 500 acres of farmland and fostered partnerships with more than 30 farms across New England. His contributions to sustainable agriculture have earned him prestigious accolades, including the 2023 Andrew M. Felker Award, the 2024 Cecile Dubois Community MVP Award, and the 2023 Presidential Medal for Excellence from the American Culinary Federation—a distinguished honor recognizing his mastery in the culinary field.

At the heart of Keith’s mission is a commitment to bridging the gap between farmers and diners. Through his innovative dining experiences, thoughtful storytelling, and unwavering advocacy for local food, he continues to redefine what it means to connect people to the land and the meals they share.

About the event:

Limited seats are available to dine with the fungi and enjoy a meal in a functioning mushroom farm. There are 24 general admission seats available.

We enjoy making our dinner events as interactive as possible. If you have questions about mushroom farming, foraging, or mushrooms in general, Dunk will be there to chat with the room, and the Chef will be available as each course is served, to talk about the masterpiece.
