Talk & Tea - Extra! Extra!

Did you know, that what you know today as the Times Colonist newspaper, has had several other names over the years, and in fact was once 2 completely separate papers?!

Current TC Editor and Publisher, Dave Obee, is also a renowned author, historian, and geneologist. So who better to ask to talk about the history of the Victoria Times (1884) and the British Colonist (1858), and their eventual merger!

Some of the other names of these papers were: Victoria Daily Times, The Daily British Colonist, and The Daily Colonist.

This promises to be an interesting look back at information distribution in bygone days, to now where the TC is delivered digitally to the palm of your hand!

Join us Sunday, October 5th, 2-4pm at the Log Cabin Museum in Saanichton. Admission is $10 cash at the door. Tea and light treats are served after the talk.
