The U.S. Navy is choosing a location for a massive new drydock for aircraft carriers and is considering two different proposals. Some details are available in the discussion tab.
Only one plan truly protects our neighborhoods:
• Alternative 2 would place noisy construction and ongoing carrier maintenance directly across from downtown Bremerton and Manette, bringing years of heavy noise and 24/7 shipyard operations to our backyards.
• Alternative 3 offers a location with minimal impact on nearby residential communities and is the option most favorable for our community.
