Navigation Skills Day

A practical day learning the dark art of navigating with map and compass!
We will look at maps to understand what they mean and how to hold them the right way. Understand distance on the map and on the ground using different techniques.
How to use a compass to take a bearing and also how to walk on a bearing.
We will build up to learning about and how to use the 5 Ds of Navigation.
