Sundays, January 11- February 15 at 9:30 AM in the Chapel of Brecksville United Methodist Church
Start the New Year with a journey into the contemplative heart of the Christian tradition. This six-week Sunday morning series, beginning in January, explores the wisdom of some of the church’s most inspiring mystics — from the Desert Mothers and Fathers to Julian of Norwich, Hildegard of Bingen, Meister Eckhart, Teresa of Ávila, and Howard Thurman.
Each week we’ll:
- Learn the story and spiritual insights of one mystic
- Explore a scripture passage that resonates with their message
- Practice a prayer or meditation inspired by their tradition
- Reflect and share how these ancient practices speak to our modern lives
Whether you are new to contemplative prayer or looking to deepen your spiritual rhythm, this class offers quiet time, meaningful reflection, and practical ways to bring ancient wisdom into everyday life.
Come curious, come seeking, come ready to experience the rich spiritual heritage of the mystics.
