This season ActofKAA student theater is returning to the classics, with Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of being Earnest. As always, the performance will take place in the English language the entire evening.
Have you ever considered leading a double life just to escape social obligations? No? Well, Jack Worthing has—and quite successfully, until now.
Jack, a seemingly respectable country gentleman, has invented an alter ego named „Ernest“ to enjoy the more thrilling aspects of city life. His friend Algernon, an expert in avoiding responsibility (and fancier of cucumber sandwiches), finds this idea so brilliant that he promptly „borrows“ it. The result? A delightful catastrophe of mistaken identities, secret engagements, and enough witty insults to make even the most well-mannered Victorian gasp.
Throughout the evening, between the laughter and drama, you may just catch glimpses of him… a storyteller, a provocateur, a legend. But what he has to say, well—that’s for you to discover! If you like witty wordplay, absurd misunderstandings, Victorian-era sass and Oscar Wilde, then this play is the one for you.
