We are continuing the search for my brother Owen Bedford, and we still need your help.
Base camp has moved to the Keystone Centre grounds, starting at 10am.
If you’re joining for the first time, please check in and register when you arrive.
If you’re coming out:
• Wear sturdy walking shoes or boots
• Dress for the weather and bring sun protection
• Bring extra socks and plenty of water
• We’ll be covering both open and wooded areas
We’re also looking for a few extra supplies that would be helpful:
• Binoculars
• Lightweight chairs or stools for lookout points
• Umbrellas for shade
We want to give a deep and heartfelt thank you to the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART) for their incredible efforts today.
HEART was deployed to Brandon to assist in the search for Owen, focusing on water-based recovery.
“We spent a productive day searching over 50 miles of shoreline on the Assiniboine River through Brandon and downstream. We also scanned beneath multiple bridges but unfortunately did not find any sign of Owen. Please continue to pray for Owen to be found safe.”
HEART specializes in underwater search and recovery, and their support has been a tremendous help to the entire search operation.
We’ve had an overwhelming response with snacks and drinks — thank you all.
Instead of additional food or drink donations tomorrow, we encourage you to consider donating directly to HEART to support their critical work:
Snacks and drinks are still well stocked — thank you again to everyone who has donated and supported the search so far. Your help means everything.
Thank you to everyone that has already sent in video, this has been incredible!! And a humongous thank you for all of the support we have received in the last few days. We have had the community behind us full force, and words cannot express the gratitude that my family has.
Let’s keep working together to bring Owen home 💗 - Jordan
