Enhance your health and wellbeing with forest bathing (Shinrin Yoku) in the heart of Thetford Forest.
This Forest Bathing session is offered as part of the 'Wellness Wednesdays' - quarterly offerings aligned with each season of the year. An indoor sound bath is offered on the same day in the afternoon from 1:15-2:30pm - this session is bookable separately.
Join me for a 2 hour session within a small group where I will lead you through an enjoyable sequence of mindful sensory and meditative practices crafted for your relaxation and connection with the forest.
Forest Bathing is the English translation of the Japanese term ‘Shinrin-yoku’. To better understand this concept, it means ‘spending quality time, fully immersed in the forest atmosphere, under the canopy of trees, for health and wellbeing purposes.
Our session will include evidence based sensory practices, guided meditation, tea and snacks and optional sharing to enchance the experience of the group. It take place outdoors, in the forest in all weathers.
We can walk around one mile in these sessions, albeit at a slow pace and with multiple rests (seated or standing.) Please advise well in advance of the session if you have any mobility restrictions or concerns about this movement through the woods.
Science based evidence shows that Forest Bathing can potentially:
Normalise blood pressure
Lower stress and anxiety levels
Improve concentration and memory
Ease feelings of depression
Reduce chronic pain
Improve energy
Boost the immune system
These sessions run outside in all weathers except high winds or storms.
Please note that this is NOT a sound bath session, but instruments will likely be incorporated as part of the session.
For weekday sessions parking is also discounted to just £3 all day for these events.
This activity takes place in partnership with Forestry England.
7 days notice is required please for any changes to tickets, or for cancellations.
