The Manasota Black Chamber of Commerce (MBCC) is proud to announce its annual Jubilee & Awards Ceremony, a celebration honoring the achievements of Black-owned businesses and community leaders in the Manatee and Sarasota region. This signature event recognizes outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship, economic development, and community empowerment.
Join us as we honor and recognize the legendary Bradenton Nine Devils, a team that made an indelible mark in baseball history. The Nine Devils proudly competed in the Florida State Negro League from 1937 to 1956, playing their Sunday afternoon games at the very site now known as LECOM Park.
The Nine Devils earned their memorable name after winning their first nine games — a testament to their talent, resilience, and passion for the game. In celebration of their legacy, your favorite Pirates players will take the field wearing special Bradenton Nine Devils–themed jerseys.
The Pirates are proud to pay tribute to the Nine Devils and their important place in Bradenton's sports heritage. This special day is a chance to reflect on the team's contributions and to honor the broader legacy of Negro League baseball.
Immediately following the game, fans are invited to stay for a Music Jubilee Celebration — an evening filled with live music, festive energy, and good vibes. Headlining the celebration will be Jah Movement, Florida’s premier reggae band. Jah Movement speaks the soul’s language through inspirational music and skillful performances that have earned them a global reputation. Their unique blend of reggae, rocksteady, and ska, paired with thoughtful lyrics and energizing riddims, creates an unforgettable musical experience. Whether lifting spirits with soulful ballads or electrifying crowds with upbeat rhythms, Jah Movement’s performances leave a lasting impression.
