Pathways to the Past: Penny River Millinery and Mantua Makers Shop

Pathways to the Past is an immersive program for BBHC visitors to learn more about the lives of everyday people in the mid-18th century.

Discover what all those layers of clothing were for during the 18th century! Meet Jessica Young, purveyor of fine handmade goods whose items have been featured in TV shows such as "Bridgerton" and "Outlander." See her Mantua Maker’s Shop, a replica colonial-era store filled with period accessories and clothing goods.

This educational program is made possible by a #PreservingAmerica grant from Americana Corner.
