Ingham County invites you to a one-day workshop on Friday, October 3, brought to you by Michigan Pet Alliance.
MORNING SESSION
Shelters face a variety of challenges—whether it's outdated or poorly designed facilities, budget constraints, staffing limitations or working with unique animal populations. In this session, we’ll discuss how to adapt and apply Fear Free strategies to meet the unique needs of any shelter, regardless of the obstacles you’re facing.
You’ll learn practical, flexible approaches to creating a Fear Free environment in shelters with limited resources or tough design constraints. We’ll explore ways to optimize the shelter space, work effectively within budget restrictions, and train staff to implement Fear Free practices even when resources or staffing are stretched thin. Additionally, we’ll cover how to manage challenging animal populations, from high-stress animals to those with behavioral issues, ensuring that Fear Free principles are still applicable in these situations.
By the end of the session, attendees will walk away with actionable strategies to enhance their shelter’s operations and improve the well-being of animals, all while addressing the diverse challenges unique to their facility.
