The B.S.A. would like our members and fellow PA. hunters to help out the farmers this summer by hosting our first annual groundhog hunting contest. The contest will run for one day, Saturday July 19th. It will kick off at the beginning of legal shooting hour. The B.S.A. club judges will be ready to start weighing in your harvest hog at 3pm. Weigh in will be at the B.S.A. clubhouse on Boyers Road. Last groundhog will be weighed at 6pm.
Individual hunters can register to participate in this contest for a $10.00 entry fee. Registration and entry fee's need to be paid or arranged made before July 18th and no registration and entry fee will be accepted the day of the event without arrangements being made with B.S.A. officers.
50% of the entry fee payout will be awarded to the individual hunter with the "Heaviest Hog" harvested.
50% of the entry fee payout will be awarded to a sportsman's club that registered individuals are affiliated members off. Entries for this portion of the contest will be for total weight of all groundhogs harvested by that clubs affiliated members. The combined weight of the five harvested groundhogs will be used for the clubs recorded weight.
This could be a club other then the Boyers Sportsmen's Association. (This will be for bragging rights of coarse)
All Pennsylvania Game Commission laws and regulations will apply and any violations of PA laws and regulations will disqualify your registration.
Hunters are responsible for the disposal of there harvested groundhogs.
Hot dogs, chips, water and pop will be for sale at the club starting at 3pm.
