When Spanish conquistadors arrived in the Central Andes of South America, they encountered a civilization equal to anything they may have previously seen.
As they marched southwards, they realized they were well into a series of kingdoms which had progressively established a network of trade routes,
roads, water works, sustainable agriculture and other lifeways more than comparable with their own world.
Don Sigsby:
Early fieldwork and historical research in various national parks in North America
led to a Masters in Resource Planning & Landscape Architecture, followed by
ongoing similar works and more commercial oriented planning works for the New
York, Seattle and Montreal Worlds Fairs. Land capability and environmental
assessment studies formed the basis of my professional life for some time,
punctuated with various development master planning studies, including
consulting on some of the Australian Growth Area concepts.
