The Boulder Junction Public Library and Boulder Junction Area Historical Society are partnering to present OurStory: a Monthly History Series. Programs will share “OurStory” – highlighting a local history topic or area of interest that helps us remember the past, understand how it impacts our present, and preserve these memories for the future.
Join us for an audience participation “Centennial Celebration Story Gathering” on Thursday, August 28 at 7pm at the Boulder Junction Community Center. The Town of Boulder Junction will be celebrating its Centennial in 2027. Everyone who lives in Boulder Junction, visits, has lived here in the past, or has visited in the past has a unique experience and point of view. The Town of Boulder Junction’s Centennial Committee is collecting stories – both verbal and written – to tell the story of Boulder Junction past and present and to preserve it for the next hundred years. Examples of types of stories include favorite place in Boulder Junction, first memory of Boulder Junction, falling in love (with the town or a person in Boulder Junction), bloopers and funny stories, and animal encounters.
Gather your friends and family and share your stories with us. We’ll be recording the stories as well as giving participants a chance to submit a written story. Please keep all stories PG. Please limit stories to no longer than two minutes. By sharing your story, you agree that the story submitted is true to the best of your knowledge, it is your story to share, and you give your permission to the Town of Boulder Junction Centennial Committee to share this story as part of the Centennial Celebrations and town promotions.
This free program is sponsored by the Boulder Junction Public Library and the Boulder Junction Area Historical Society. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 715-385-2050.
