Native Flute Music & Storytelling - Matt Schanandore

Matt Schanandore is a descendant of the Mandan people and an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes/MHA Nation in New Town, ND. Schanandore has studied the art of Native American Flute music on the northern plains for almost 20 years. He wonderfully blends the ghostly and melodic native flute music with the ancestral history of the Mandan people and the stories and teachings of his late Grandmother Regina Schanandore or "Eagle Plume Woman."

Schanandore currently works for the Mandan Progress Organization as their Executive Director and has previously worked for the ND Parks & Recreation Department at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. Over the years he has traveled extensively performing around the country, particularly with the National Park Service's "Tent of Many Voices" exhibit during the 2004-2006 Lewis and Clark Bicentennial.

Join us at the amphitheater on Saturday, July 19 at 8pm for this special, one-night musical performance. This event is free with paid state park entrance fee.
