Got broken stuff? Toss it? No way! Bring it to a WSU Repair Café!
You can bring your household goods and our fixers will diagnose the issue and do their best to make it usable again. They will show you their process, order parts if necessary, and help you learn how to do it yourself with one-on-one instruction. Our fixers can repair your items and keep stuff from being tossed in the landfill!
This Repair Cafe takes place during the city of Bothell's Sustainamania, so before or after you have your item repaired, check out the rest of the event that includes local low-waste artisans and business, nonprofit and environmental organizations, games and crafts, live music, and more!
Please note:
• We cannot fund the cost of any additional parts needed. If your item needs a part for repair, our volunteer will contact you to discuss this with you.
• We don’t guarantee repairs, and we are not responsible for any damages from attempting to repair an item. So, you must sign a liability release form before seeing a repair specialist.
• At these free repair events, we may decline to work on any item – in advance or at the event – depending on the item, the type of repair needed, the fixers available, or for other reasons. We cannot work on cell phones or Apple products.
• Two item maximum per meeting. First come, first served.
• Please arrive before 1PM for most repairs, as the last hour is usually filled with completing repairs rather than taking on new projects.
What We Repair:
• Tabletop appliances (e.g. toasters, blenders, coffee pots, etc.)
• Our most popular items: vacuums and lamps
• Toys
• Bicycles
• Computer software issues (e.g. storage issues, long loading times, email, etc.)
• Clothing mending and small hemming
• Simple jewelry repair (e.g. broken clasp, missing link, etc.)
• Home decor
• And much more!
Steps To Participate:
Arrive at Bothell City Hall between 10am and 2pm.
Repair Specialists will be on-site to help with your item and will work with you on repairing.
