About the event

Two Nations, One Battle: Bunker Hill in British and American Memory
Join historians Nathaniel Philbrick and Emma Hart in a transatlantic discussion on the Battle of Bunker Hill 250 years later.

About this Event

As part of the ongoing 250th anniversary celebrations of the American Revolution, the National Park Service has partnered with the Friends of the Charlestown Public Library, the Bunker Hill Monument Association, British Consulate-General Boston, and Bunker Hill Community College to present a special panel discussion exploring the Battle of Bunker Hill from both American and British perspectives.

Join us on Thursday, June 5th at Bunker Hill Community College for a moderated conversation between two distinguished historians—one American and one British—as they examine the enduring legacy of one of the Revolution’s most pivotal early battles. Through thoughtful dialogue and historical insight, the panel will explore how the Battle of Bunker Hill has been remembered, interpreted, and understood on both sides of the Atlantic over the past 250 years.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and take part in a broader community conversation following the discussion. This free public event promises to offer a compelling reflection on the past—and what it means for us today.

Directions into campus and into the A300 auditorium:

We encourage all guests who are able to use public transit. BHCC is located at the Community College stop on the MBTA Orange Line. Attendees can enter through the College's main entrance on Austin Street. Inside the front doors, immediately turn right. An accessible elevator is on the right and stairs are past the elevator, also on the right. Go up one level to the third floor. Upon exiting the elevator turn right and from the stairs turn left, and the auditorium is at the end of the hall, next to the Mary Fifield Art Gallery. A non-accessible entrance is also available on the Austin Street side of the Plaza, next to the BHCC Police sign. Signs will be posted for way finding.
