There’s no guidebook for capturing queer identity in food photography—no step-by-step manual for translating community, history, and joy into styled images. When the team behind Potluck Desserts set out to bring the book to life, they went in without a roadmap—and what emerged was something truly queer.
Join Potluck Desserts author Justin Burke, photographer Brian Samuels, and stylist Catrine Kelty for a lively conversation about pushing boundaries in food media. They’ll share how they crafted visuals that go beyond “just pretty” to tell real, layered, and deeply personal stories. Expect behind-the-scenes insights, creative inspiration, and plenty of delicious details from the team that made it happen.
Hosted by High Street Place Food Hall, please browse and dine at any of the diverse food concepts and bars in the hall before the event begins.
