NEMPAC’s Jazz in the Park Summer Series
returns to the Greenway with 5 Incredible Musical Acts!
The concert on Thursday, July 31st will feature Albino Mbie.
The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) returns to the Rose Kennedy Greenway for its 2025 Jazz in the Park Summer Concert Series on Thursday Nights July 10 through August 7. Artistically directed by Stefano Marchese, this year’s lineup will feature Boston’s top jazz artists, musicians, and ensembles representing diverse cultures and genres worldwide. Concerts are free and open to the public.
The series, in partnership with the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy and the City of Boston, will present five fantastic musical acts performing a range of musical stylings. The artist line-up is below:
Albino Mbie - July 31
Mercedes Escobar - August 7
Albino Mbie is an acclaimed musician, singer, guitarist, and composer from Mozambique. Born in Maputo, he crafted his first guitar from scrap materials at age 15. In 2009, Mbie earned a full scholarship to Berklee, graduating with degrees in Music Production, Sound Engineering, and Guitar Performance. His unique sound blends traditional Mozambican genres like Marrabenta and Chope with jazz harmonies and Afro-pop, creating a captivating musical experience. Mbie's mission honors African musical traditions while addressing social issues, using performances to inspire community change. Having shared the stage with jazz legends like Wayne Shorter and African icons like Richard Bona, Mbie showcases African music's richness globally. With his authentic voice and compelling storytelling, Albino Mbie continues to uplift audiences and make a significant impact in the music world.

WHERE: Concerts are held outdoors on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, directly adjacent to the Canopy Hotel in Boston. The rain or heat location is the Canopy Hotel by Hilton.
