Level Ground Summer Student Showcase

Join us for an energizing evening of movement, mentorship, and youth-led innovation at Level Ground’s Summer Student Showcase! This interactive event invites you to experience firsthand the power of our Student Trainer Program.

Cycle through dynamic stations where our students will demonstrate their skills as certified personal trainers, martial arts instructors, and young entrepreneurs. You’ll have the chance to participate in mini training sessions, try out martial arts techniques, and engage with student-led business projects—all designed and delivered by the youth themselves.

Whether you choose to observe or jump in, you’ll witness the growth, confidence, and leadership our students have cultivated all summer long. Come celebrate their hard work, connect with our vibrant community, and be inspired by the next generation of changemakers.

For those who wish to participate in training, please wear workout clothes. Otherwise, business casual and casual attire is welcomed.

Showcase runs from 6 - 7 pm, followed by a reception of (relatively) healthy treats!

The mission of Level Ground is to empower urban youth through transformative athletic, academic, and employment opportunities so that they may overcome the challenges of their environment and accomplish their goals for the future. We are the first and only nonprofit organization in the United States that leverages the popular sport of Mixed Martial Arts as a vehicle for positive youth development and community transformation.

Athletics Program: Making Health & Wellness Accessible through Martial Arts

LG leverages training in Martial Arts to create a positive relationship with youth in an engaging and fun fashion. Our professional instructors use the sport to espouse the following values: Discipline, Respect, Humility, Tenacity and Self-Control.

Classes include instruction in Mixed Martial Arts, Children’s Martial Arts for ages 5-12, Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We also have 3 classes/week for Girls and Women only.

The Student Trainer Program: Building the Next Generation of Leaders

Level Ground’s Student Trainer Program is a two-year, paid opportunity for vulnerable youth (14-18) to gain career skills, academic support, and personal growth. Participants earn a Personal Training Certification, are trained to become martial arts instructors, gain hands-on business and trades experience, receive mentorship, and engage in academic enrichment. The program also fosters healthy living, leadership, and life skills through martial arts training and social-emotional learning. Graduates transition into college, internships, or meaningful employment.
