Dancing For Birth™ is a prenatal and postpartum class based on the core principles of movement, gravity and instinct. Through a combination of mindfulness and dance, we will learn relaxation techniques, comfort measures for labor, and stretches for pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Weaving together fitness, education, and celebration, this class is safe and suitable for birthing people at any stage of pregnancy or postpartum. No previous dance experience is required! Babies are welcome, as long as they are able to be worn for the duration of the class.
About the Instructor:
Along with being a Dancing For Birth™ instructor, Margaret Walker, CD (DONA), is a birth doula and healthcare worker based in Boston. She is honored to have provided compassionate accompaniment to community members across the whole lifespan, with a particular focus on offering guidance and support during childbirth. Margaret is passionate about creating a more equitable, caring, and heart-centered healthcare landscape where each person is treated with dignity. Her classes reflect these values, and place an emphasis celebrating the many different ways our bodies can move. As a lifelong learner, she loves exploring the outdoors, curling up with a good book, and of course, dancing!
