Requiem Trio

In recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), three performers offer 20-minute sets of remembrance music honoring lives lost and hearts still hurting. This free event invites reflection, healing, and hope, featuring music and words from community members impacted by substance use. IOAD is held annually at the end of August to remember, raise awareness, and advocate for change.

Performers:

John Schindler (he/him) is a singer-songwriter whose music is shaped by a seminary past, and decades of storytelling on the road.

Sam Thomas (he/him) is a pianist who shares his music and story to honor the humanity of those affected by the justice system.

Sara Trunzo (she/her) is a singer-songwriter and community organizer whose music and activism are rooted in rural life and resilience.

The concert is followed by a reception with light fare and beverages, a display honoring Mainers lost to overdose, and information about addiction treatment resources.
