Join us on 25th July for a lively and nostalgic evening at our From Pit to Pitch Museum Late - a unique celebration of coalmining, community and the beautiful game.
We’re thrilled to welcome Newtongrange’s own Eric Davidson – storyteller, musician, and local legend – who’ll take you on a heartfelt journey through tales of life down the pit, the village football scene, and growing up in this proud mining community. Expect laughs, memories, and a few ukulele tunes thrown in for good measure!
What else is in store?
- Explore our fascinating temporary exhibition that uncovers the deep ties between mining and football.
- View the film From Pit to Pitch in the Black Diamond Theatre
- Show off your skills (or your luck!) with a friendly game of foosball.
- Get creative at our craft activity, inspired by the stories of the night.
The bar will be open all evening, and if you're feeling peckish, grab one of our delicious hot pies fresh from the oven.
