Technology keeps moving fast – and it changes how we live, work, and relate to each other. With NOI TECHTALKS, NOI Techpark and Eurac Research’s Center for Advanced Studies open a space where research and the wider public meet to reflect together: What does progress mean for society? Which questions really matter for our future? And how do we make sure innovation serves people and nature? The series is open to everyone: an invitation to think, ask, and debate in an open, equal dialogue.

𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿?
What happens when machines at work stop being mere tools and start acting as autonomous agents – making decisions, taking action, and interacting alongside us? As automation reaches more areas of daily life, we increasingly encounter robots that operate as (seemingly) independent actors: sometimes serving us, sometimes collaborating with us. In our second edition, on 3 December, we explore how people experience and make sense of collaborating with autonomous machines at work – asking not only how we will work tomorrow, but also how we want to live and coexist with these new actors in our society.
𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘀, Associate Professor in the Human-Computer Interaction group at TU Wien, and 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗚𝗶𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, will engage in a critical, audience-focused dialogue on what good collaboration with autonomous systems requires.
