Friday May 9, at 8 PM, the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation is pleased to host the classical Indian music concert by maestro Sugato Bhaduri.
The Indian Mandolin Maestro will perform a 75-minute concert divided into two parts: the first features an instrumental mandolin performance, while the second consists of a Vedic vocal chanting session of raga.
A distinctive feature of Sugato’s music is his rare ability to merge Gayaki-ang (vocal style) with Tantrakari (instrumental style) into a synthesis of refined aesthetic richness
Deep emotional expression, an expansive intellectual approach to the raga, and technical mastery of sound form the core elements of his musical identity.
The deep, resonant tone of his mandolin—evoking the timbral nuances of instruments such as the Veena, Rabab, Sarod, and Sitar—allows his music to authentically draw from the ancient roots of Indian classical tradition while projecting it into new sonic dimensions.
Sugato began his musical journey at a young age studying singing, later turning to instrumental music during his university years, where he also received basic training in Western music on the mandolin. After earning a degree in science, he dedicated himself to Hindustani classical music and studied for 17 years under the active guidance of the renowned sarod maestro Pt. T. N. Majumder.
Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades, including: Best Mandolin Soloist at the International Eurofestival Zupfmusik (Bamberg, Germany, 2006), the title of Best Gandharva in India awarded by the Sangeet Samraat Ustad Alladiya Khan Memorial (Kolhapur, Maharashtra, 2012), and the International Maharishi Award at the Peace Palace in Rendlesham (Suffolk, United Kingdom, 2019).
Since 2005, Sugato has undertaken numerous tours across Europe (United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Serbia, and Croatia), performing at various prestigious festivals and international concerts.
Free entry & free guided tour at 7 PM. A light buffet will follow the event.
