For the first time in Norway, we present music by Cristiano Melli - one of the most significant young composers from Brazil today: His works EROLA’s Symphonies 1, as well as the world premiere of Cantos Ardentes de Corpos Desquecidos are performed by Ola Asdahl Rokkones on the saxophone, and Bjørn Andor Drage on the organ. The audience will also hear the work Surfaces by the Norwegian composer Lars Skoglund, renowned for his creative and conceptual music style.
Cristiano Melli studied in São Paulo with composers Almeida Prado, Osvaldo Lacerda and Jocy de Oliveira. In 2010, he moved to The Netherlands, studying Composition at The Royal Conservatorium of The Hague, with Yannis Kyriakides, Calliope Tsoupaki, Cornelis de Bondt, Gilius van Bergeijk and Peter Adriaansz, as well as Masterclasses with Christian Wolff, Antoine Beuger and Hans Abrahamsen. His music has been selected to several Festivals and workshops, both in Brazil and Europe, as well as being performed in Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Germany and Israel.
