Create Embroidery Patterns From Your Photos Day

Many people have a favourite photo that they would like to embroider. You may have a fabulous picture of a pet or wildlife a beautiful scene taken when on holiday lets turn these into your own embroidery design. This workshop will give you the tools to plan and create your own picture by enabling you to manipulate and print the picture plan the stitches and choose the appropriate embroidery floss.

There will be a need to use your tablet or laptop to bring a photo quality print on photographic paper to A4 size. In the workshop we will go over how to change the photograph to see the nuances of the shading and print a plain paper copy. We will then go over several ways to create the picture on your material.

We will then go over how to decide on the stitches that you would like to use (don’t be afraid to come out of your comfort zone) and use the photo print to choose floss.

Requirements

Mechanical Pencil (you can get packs of these in supermarkets)

Pen and paper to take notes

A planning book

Photographic quality A5/A4 picture of choice

Tablet or lap top with a digital copy of the photograph (don’t for get your charging lead)

Light box if you have one

Embroidery hoop threads needle snips/scissors
