- About Daniel -
Hailing from Houston, Texas, oboist Daniel Cruz began his musical journey at the age of 17. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music, studying under Richard Killmer and a Master of Music from the University of Texas with Dr. Andrew Parker. He is currently earning a Professional Performance Certificate here at Lynn, in the studio of Nathan Hughes.
Danny has performed with the Symphony of Southeast Texas and was the winner of the Brighton Symphony Concerto Competition. He has participated in master classes with renowned oboists Frank Rosenwein and Robert Walters, and maintains an active freelance career across the United States, having performed solo recitals in Texas, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Outside of performance, Danny is passionate about music education and founded oboefiles.com, a project dedicated to providing equitable access to oboe instruction. He also enjoys running and exploring creative outlets like Black Majic.
