- About Ingryd -
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, trumpeter Ingryd Herrera began her musical journey at age eight through the Tocar y Luchar program in Cafam, Colombia. She has studied under renowned teachers Kenneth Larson, Elmer Churampi, and with Marc Reese here at Lynn. Ingryd has performed with ensembles such as the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra and the National Orchestra of the University of Colombia, and has appeared as a soloist with Tocar y Luchar’s wind ensemble and orchestra. She has participated in master classes with acclaimed artists including Michael Sachs, Guillaume Jehl, and Pacho Florez. Beyond music, Ingryd is passionate about fitness, dance, and community service through her family foundation that supports people and animals in need. She is also enjoys motor sports, and is proficient in writing in Braille.
