Hike Round the Mound

Blue Mound is renowned for its height, and the top of the mound gets a lot of attention. But Blue Mound State Park is not just scenic overlooks - head downslope and encounter a variety of ecosystems and habitats. Join Park Naturalist Joe for a hike at the park’s lower elevations as we make our way around the mound. This hike will cover approximately 5 miles and connect segments from 7 different trails.

Easy to Moderate grass trails with segments of Difficult single-track trail.

Leave time for a 90 - 120 minutes total. * There will be opportunities to leave the route to meet your needs. Starts at Hike/Bike Campground and ends back at the Family Campgrounds.

Bring water, hats, sunscreen, bug spray, a camera/phone, and your curiosity.

Meet at the Swain Prairie next to the Hike/Bike campsites
