🌿 Step into the Story of Blue Hill! 🏡
We’re thrilled to be part of Maine Preservation’s Jane’s Walk this year! Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 3rd, when we’ll kick off a fascinating walking tour of historic Union Street, starting at the Blue Hill Town Hall.
✨ What to Expect:
Get ready for a journey through time as we explore one of Blue Hill’s most storied streets. Union Street is home to the legacies of ship captains, artists, doctors, and community leaders — all of whom left their mark on this incredible town.
One of our highlights? Jonathan Fisher — Blue Hill’s first settled minister, a brilliant artist, inventor, mathematician, and all-around Renaissance man. You’ll get a glimpse into his world through historic photos, and compelling stories that make history come alive.
📜 Whether you're a lifelong local or a curious visitor, this tour offers a fresh perspective on the people and places that shaped Blue Hill’s vibrant past.
👟 What to Bring:
Comfortable walking shoes
Weather-appropriate attire
An open mind and sense of curiosity!
Kids are welcome!
📣 This event is co-sponsored by the Jonathan Fisher House and the Blue Hill Historical Society, and we’re proud to join the global movement of Jane’s Walks — community-led walking conversations inspired by the legendary urbanist Jane Jacobs.
Let’s take a walk — and discover the stories waiting just around the corner.
