Steve Mackey's music career spans over 50 years, as he has performed in a vast array of venues and music genres including classic Rock, Pop, Folk, Blues, Country, and Big Band standards; along the way he has written many songs in these genres.
Steve has also worked in many kinds of musical acts, from full-size Rock bands, to duos, trios, and even in orchestras, but he has always been able to take the stage as a solo artist, currently his main focus.
Steve hails from Bucks County in Pennsylvania, and he has gigged extensively there and in the surrounding counties; he has also performed in the San Francisco Bay area and in the Boulder, Colorado, music scene. He has also performed live on cable television and radio.
Steve has been fortunate enough to experience performing as an opening act for comedian/actor Mickey Shaughnessy and recording artists including Hall & Oates, Jerry Garcia, Dan Hicks, Cheech & Chong, Starcastle, and Jesse Colin Young. He has also enjoyed working alongside many other great fellow musicians over the years.
Steve has worked in recording studios and has recorded many of his original songs, and he has catalogued much of the music he has played throughout his career.
