Scholastic sections:
3rd Grade/Under Scholastic - trophy prizes
8th Grade/Under Scholastic - trophy prizes
12th Grade/Under Scholastic - gift card prizes
Open sections:
Master/Expert Open (2000+) - $350 prizes
Upper Open (1500-1999) - $300 prizes
Lower Open (1000-1499) - $200 prizes
Novice Open (<999) - $150 prizes
Note: We may combine sections due to turnout if necessary
Scholastic round times, arrival times, and time control:
Round times: 9:30AM, (lunch break), 12:00PM, last two rounds will start as soon as the last game finishes
Arrival time: Arrive between 8:00-9:15AM (inc. on-site registration)
Time control: G45;d5 (each side has 45 minutes to make moves with a five-second delay before the clock ticks down each move)
Open round times, arrival times, and time control:
Round times: 9:00AM, (lunch break), 12:30PM, 3:30PM, 6:30PM
Arrival time: Arrive between 8:00-8:45AM (inc. on-site registration)
Time control: G60+5 (each side has 60 minutes to make moves with a five-second increment after each move)
NOTE: Open sections begin 30 minutes BEFORE the scholastic sections! Plan accordingly!
Equipment: Open section players, please bring boards, pieces, and clocks!
Byes: Up to 2 half-point byes can be requested. Let us know ASAP. We do not want to forfeit you!
Entry fee for all sections: $5 until December 31, $20 till January 31, $40 after/on-site. Free entry upon proof of public assistance. Full refunds available between January 1 and February 18.

Awards:
Scholastic players will receive trophies at each section’s awards ceremony once all fourth-round games finish. Let us know if you need to skip the ceremony, and we can ship trophies to your address.
Open section players who need to leave before cash prizes are handed out will receive their payouts electronically via PayPal, Venmo, or check.
