A true Pickin’ Parlor fan favorite, The Little Roy & Lizzy Show always means great music and great times…and this year’s show promises to hold true to form. With a great backing band, Roy & Lizzy put on a highly entertaining night of music and merriment that will brighten your holiday spirits.
No matter where he plays, Little Roy Lewis is awfully hard to overlook. He makes sure that no one in the audience gets bored at any time. In addition to the banjo that made him famous, Little Roy can often be found playing the guitar and autoharp, on top of spinning slightly crazy tales from his storied career. In recognition of his many achievements, Little Roy has been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, the SPGBMA Hall of Greats, IBMA Hall of Honor, and the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
Lizzy Long grew up in nearby Lincolnton, Georgia, where she began her music career at an early age. After starting out on the piano she took up the fiddle, guitar, autoharp, bass, banjo, and mandolin. Then, before joining up with Little Roy Lewis from the legendary Lewis Family, she played with such great acts as Mac Wiseman, Jim and Jesse, The Lewis Family, and Earl Scruggs. Lizzy’s strong voice has led to many awards including “Bluegrass Song of the Year” for a duet with Rhonda Vincent called “God is There”. She is also one of the youngest fiddlers to be inducted into “America’s Old Time Fiddler’s Country Hall of Fame. Little Roy summed it up the best, “pull a plank off the wall and she’ll play it!”
