Marlborough Native Plant Nursery Tour

Autumn is a busy time for the Selmes Native Plant Team!

They're out following the rhythms of nature: trying to collect local seeds from as many native plants as possible. Traveling far and wide across Marlborough to get a good dose of genetic diversity. This is one of the first (and most important) tasks for the revegetation branch. A lesser-known side of Selmes Garden Centre & Nursery.

Over the coming weeks and months, we hope to share a few more sneak peeks behind the scenes. Showcasing all the funky details that go into what it takes to grow a native plant for reforestation projects. From small seeds to powerful plants with a mission. Interested to find out even more about our eco-sourced native plants, or this project in general? Our Native Nursery Team Leader will be hosting a few tours starting this May!
