Have you seen the pottery classes and thought “that would be cool to experience” and then thought “maybe I’d like to practice the skill a bit more than just a one time session”…. Well if that thought had crossed your mind then this unique experience may just be for you!!!
A mini-school of throwing on the pottery wheels! AKA: a month-long clay class!
This month-long pottery class will be held every Monday night a week for 4 weeks beginning Monday Aug 11th and running to Mon Sept. 1st.
During this class you will learn and begin to hone basic throwing techniques as well as trimming and glazing your own pieces created during this time.
1st Monday we’ll be discussing wedging and practicing that as well as throwing small amounts of clay.
2nd Monday we’ll be throwing differing amounts of clay in attempt to. Create a larger piece. You will be able to keep your 5 best pieces to work with the following 2 Mondays
3rd Monday you will learn how to trim the bottoms of your pieces and maybe explore handle-making if there’s a desire for that.
4th Monday will be reserved for glazing all your pieces.
This class is an awesome opportunity for anyone who really wants to know more about ceramics as well as practice the skill a bit more. Because it’s a build-upon-each-session type of class one would have to commit to all 4 Mondays.
Total cost for the entire month of Mondays is 200$. All instruction, materials (including glazes), tools and firing are included in the cost. Participants get to keep up to 5 pieces made.
Class max is 7 people.
