It's official! Worldwide Play Music on the Porch Day will be celebrated in Blairsville as part of the "Heritage & Music Festival" on Saturday, August 30th, beginning at 3:30 PM on the porch of the newly relocated/reconstructed Collins Cabin on the grounds of the Mountain Life Museum, just 100 yards south of the old historic courthouse on the square.
"What if for one day everything stopped and we all just listened to the music?" That's what will be happening at THOUSANDS of locations all around the globe on the last Saturday in August, and ALL are welcome to join in.
If we have too many performers who want to join in the jam, there's plenty of space on the museum grounds for additional jam groups.
There will be scheduled performers throughout the day at the Heritage Festival, but at 3:30 we'll open it up to musicians of all ages, instruments, and skill levels to make spontaneous, unrehearsed, improvised music at one or more jams!
