Take a trip under the sea with a special sing-a-long screening of The Little Mermaid with Blackpool’s own LGBTQ+ choir, Electric Pink Voices and Blackpool Film Festival.
Ariel, a curious young mermaid, dreams of life on land. After falling for the dashing Prince Eric, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, sacrificing her voice to become human. Along with the help of her loyal sea creature companions, will Ariel save the seas from Ursula’s dark magic and find true love?
Exploring themes of identity, courage, and the struggle for belonging, this classic tale holds deep meaning for many LGBTQ+ people and resonates with Electric Pink Voices’ mission to celebrate connection and community through the power of song.
The choir will help to warm up your vocal chords up before the film begins, so you can sit back and sing your heart out to beloved classics such as Part of Your World, Poor Unfortunate Souls and Under the Sea.
Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, so plan those creative costumes and dust off that seaside sparkle. As Ariel would say: "You're not getting cold fins now, are you?"
