Learn to weave from natural and manufactured Fibres

I will lead you through this two-day workshop.

Day 1: Restore your creative self in this workshop where you will coil (stitched basketry) a basket using a variety of materials including raffia and natural fibres. Learn the technique of open weave coiling and go from there! To reinforce your learning, you can also make a small basket using waste materials

Day 2 Relax and learn while you create a sturdy hidden core basket. Using a variety of materials, you will learn two techniques that will completely cover an inner core giving the basket added strength. This can be applied to any number of baskets. You will have the opportunity to adapt your design by creating handles or adding decorations.

All materials will be supplied. Morning tea/coffee and biscuits also supplied.

This is a hands on workshop for all skill levels.
