Theodore Roosevelt, the Navy, and North Dakota

Join us in Bismarck for an afternoon of learning with two North Dakotans, Admiral Jeffrey Fowler and scholar Clay Jenkinson!

They will discuss the sinking of the USS Maine and the sensational journalism surrounding it, TR's experiences in Cuba, and Admiral Hyman G. Rickover's investigation of the sinking in the 1970s.

This event will also serve as a preview of the 20th annual TR Symposium, themed "TR and the Navy," taking place Sept. 25-27, 2025 in Dickinson and Medora.
