This event is for WI members and their family members only.
As part of our sponsorship scheme, FEWI has teamed up with Essex Ladies County Golf Association (ELCGA) and Golf World Stansted to offer members and their relatives the chance to have a go at the sport of golf with the aim of getting more ladies taking up the sport.
ELCGA are hugely subsidising this event to make it affordable for all and we are very grateful for their support. If this event is well supported by our WI members we will aim to hold similar events at other clubs around the county. If you are interested in this event but somewhere else in Essex, please email

The event schedule will be as follows:-
Arrival 12.30 to meet PGA professionals, ELCGA county officials and some of our Federation Trustees
Lesson 1pm to 3pm
Break for a light lunch 3pm to 4pm (provided by ELCGA)
Re-start lesson 4pm to 6pm
Departure 6pm
Lunch at 3pm will be a selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, pizzas, crips, etc. Please advise during booking if you have dietary requirements.

Dress code is relaxed - suitable footwear, trainers or golf shoes, and comfortable sports attire.
Equipment - if you are able to bring a set of suitable clubs then please do so but some equipment will be available to borrow if you are a complete beginner!
Experience - this day is aimed at novices and complete beginners but if you are already a golfer but you would like a family member to get to know the sport in a friendly, relaxed way then please do book yourselves up.
Weather - the club has a covered driving range so unless there is a particularly horrendous forecast the event will go ahead as planned, albeit under cover in the event of rain.
Under 18s - If you are booking for someone under 18, please note that they must be accompanied by a participating WI Member who will be responsible for their safety and well-being while taking part in the event, and they should not be left unsupervised at any time.
