Flow Meditation
Saturdays, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Series Dates: July 5 – August 9
Flow Meditation is a whole-brained approach to meditation, integrating stillness, movement, and insight. Each session combines 15 to 30-minute meditative periods with interactive discussion and feedback, applying principles of the Flow State to deepen presence and clarity. The structure is dynamic and adapts to the needs of the participants.
This summer, we will explore Vasubandhu’s Thirty Verses (Triṃśikā)—a foundational text of Yogācāra Buddhism. These verses reveal how all experiences arise from consciousness alone. Through the concept of alaya-vijñāna (storehouse consciousness), Vasubandhu explains how karmic impressions shape perception, giving rise to the illusion of a separate self and world. Liberation, he teaches, comes through realizing that this duality is a projection of mind.
Teacher
Karn, founder of Feeling Flow, has been studying and practicing meditation intensively since 2015, with deep influence from Zen, the Buddha’s teachings, and the writings of J. Krishnamurti. He has participated in numerous week-long sesshins at Jikoji Zen Center and related temples, engaging in direct dialogue with teachers. Since 2024, Karn has been guiding Flow Meditation as a contemporary integration of awareness, movement, and insight. He also co-hosts Japanese Ceremonial Tea practice with Daoist calligrapher Gerow Reece, exploring tea as a meditative art form.
