Join us for a talk entitled "The Weardale Railway Past and Present" by John Askwith.

This talk is part of a series of events to celebrate the 40th birthday of the Weardale Museum. The evening will also include a status update on the Museum and the ongoing restoration works on High House Chapel, and information on our vision for the future, plus an opportunity to ask questions.
At the interval there will be additional refreshments, the Museum Shop (with special 40th merch), and the sale of raffle tickets. Prizes include an overnight stay at Dowfold House B&B, Crook; 2 tickets to a 2025 Durham cricket T20 fixture; a £50 voucher for Stanhope Travel; and many more.

Raffle details:
We will be hosting one raffle on the night (tickets are £1, or 5 for £4). Prizes will be on display at the event.
In addition, a Grand Raffle that will be drawn at the final birthday event – 7th June, 7-9pm at St Thomas’ Church Hall, Wolsingham. Grand Raffle tickets can be purchased at our events, at the Museum, or by contacting us through social media, email (

Some prizes cannot be posted so please consider whether you would be able to arrange collection prior to purchasing tickets.
