CHALLENGE TIME - Sun 27th July
Can you do 43 poomsae back to back?
Last August, Master Tony lost a dear friend and colleague, Neil, to a fast-moving form of pancreatic cancer. Neil was just 43 years old. In honour of his memory, and to raise money in his name, his friends have come together to take on challenges inspired by the number 43.
Master Tony has chosen something incredibly meaningful: performing 43 poomsae back to back. If you've ever trained in poomsae, you’ll know just how demanding that is—physically and mentally. Staying focused and pushing through that level of endurance takes real strength and resilience.
To support him, we’re inviting students to join in—whether you know one poomsae or ten. This challenge isn’t about perfection in technique; it’s about having the mental grit to keep going, even when your mind wants to give up. That’s the real test—and it's a powerful one.
It’s also a fantastic opportunity to practise, grow, and come together as a community for a great cause. If you’d like to be part of it, we’re asking for a £10 donation, which will go directly towards Master Tony’s fundraising efforts in Neil’s memory.
Let’s do something meaningful—together. If you'd like to have a go please give your name to Master Katey asap. We will accept the challenge on Sunday 27th July at Wolsingham Sports Hall 10am until we finish. However long that takes.
