Ongoing Series - "Democracy-in-Repair"

First, we continue with our analyses of the role of philosophy-songs: "Dr. Hall Looks Kinda Like Dave Grohl" edition. Another of my students' favorite beginning-of-class jams, if only because of my ALLEGED resemblance. (Shout out to my former Dental Ethics students at UAB!). Their most famous anthem is a driving, empowering, starburst of defiance against fascist conformity (composed in protest of Bush's terrorist "War on Terror").

Second, we reflect on our remarkably hopeful successes with the guild's first two Civil Rights clients (the social worker and the little boy), brainstorm about our new client (the dad ripped from his 8-day-old daughter), and prepare for the imminent creation of our new 501(c)(4) Social Welfare nonprofit--as instigated, and financially-transfused, by a woman of color nonprofit founder and (online) guild member, our already-considerable debt to whom just got much deeper--as did our love and gratitude for all she is and all she does for our communities.
