Celebrate Fire Prevention Week 2025 at Birmingham’s annual Fire Department Open House on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Fire Station 1 at 572 South Adams!
Whether you’re curious about how firefighters respond to emergencies or want a closer look at a fire truck, there’s something for everyone at this treasured community event. Bring your whole family and enjoy an afternoon of learning, fun and community connection, including:
• A behind-the-scenes look at the fire station!
• Meet your local first responders, ask questions and learn more about their vital work to keep the community safe.
• Watch a live demonstration of vehicle extrication and rope rescue
• View displays by the Michigan State Police Bomb Squad, ATF Arson Unit, Corewell Health Stroke Team and more.
• Free homemade firehouse chili, hot dogs, cookies and popcorn
• Make a small donation for an opportunity to dunk a firefighter – all dunk tank proceeds benefit the Great Lakes Burn Camp.
