The Florida Project

This year is the TENTH ANNIVERSARY of Art House Billings, and we are celebrating all year long at Art House Cinema and Pub with a special monthly screening of a film from the last decade that has a substantial impact on Art House and our community! For the month of August, we are incredibly pleased to say that we will be playing Sean Bakers monumental 2017 drama, THE FLORIDA PROJECT, Sunday, August 31st!
A fascinating, heartfelt story of the majesty of youth, THE FLORIDA PROJECT stands as one of the all-time best films of childhood realism, balancing the innocence of a child's existence with the harsh and cruel struggles of adulthood in a way that results in a cinematic feat few have ever accomplished! Poetically taking place just outside The Most Magical Place on Earth, THE FLORIDA PROJECT explores how a child will create their own fantasy while being denied entrance to another, and it easily remains one of the most moving films of the last decade!
Precocious six year old Mooney spends her summer vacation exploring with her two best friends in the neighborhood of the hotel she stays in with her mother. As she forges he own adventures of childhood escapism, her mother Hailey and the kindhearted hotel manager Bobby shield the children from harsh realities as they fall on hard times.
